Have the stations in such a way that the arrival and departure stations are integrated into the countryside and the environment.
Slopes
Avoid straight tracks and take cure of the border of the slopes for a better integration in the environment,
Plant grass on the slopes favouring the growth of local vegetation which suits cattle breeding,
Rationalise the ski area and optimise its use,
Use the slopes in all seasons: in the winter ski, in the summer mountain biking, walks, treks…….
Snowmaking
Use technologies and equipments to be as efficient as possible,
Forbid the use of additives in the production of snow,
Guarantee a correct balance between the use of water, the cost for the resort and the management of the ski area,
Reduce in the summer the visual impact of the snowmaking facilities in the areas which are busiest.
Ecological behaviour
Encourage the clients to an “eco responsible” behaviour and encourage the workers and operators to respect the environment,
Develop the capacities and abilities of all in protecting the environment,
Organise the collection of rubbish all year round and at the end of the season participate in a general cleaning of the area,
Limit the movement of vehicles to reduce the pollution and the amount of petrol used.
General dispositions for the development of the ski area:
Consider the existing possibilities and the needs that will be confirmed by economic surveys and the possibility of inserting this into the environment,
Inform the local population directly involved in the project.
In Courmayeur, in the last few years the management of the ski area has been carried out observing these procedures for its development in time. It is necessary however to estimate the existing capacity, the needs confirmed by economic studies and the environmental potential.
